De la widgetisation de nos catalogues [MaJ]

Sur les traces de la BU d’angers, j’avais déjà évoqué les moyens + l’interet de rendre nos catalogues widgetisables.

Je rajoute : même si vous ne voyez pas trop l’interet, c’est une excellente facon de comprendre comment votre catalogue marche (via votre opac) et ca vous donnera des réponses à d’autres questions.

Via pintini, un excellent ppt pour créer des widgets dans google :

J’ai jeté un oeil, et là, miracle, parmi toutes les bibliothèques widgetisées, j’en ai trouvé une qui a su passer au Niveau supérieur !!

Chez eux, les résultats de la recherche s’affichent DANS le widget…

Ca va donner du grain à moudre à quelques uns…

Dear Pascal,

my apologies for the late reply, but I’m not using my Gmail account very often. Yes, the difference is CatalogWS. This is an API that our library staff has developed for our catalog. It allows me to send a short request to our catalog and returns the results in a variety of formats, such as JSON or, in this case, XML. If you would like to know more about CatalogWS, here is our project page:

We just published an article in the first issue of the Code4Lib Journal which does a much better job at explaining  how CatalogWS works than I could do here and also shows some more sample applications, such as the catalog interface for mobile devices on which the Google widget is based:
